Perspective

In the last few weeks, I've had several experiences I found... meaningful. They lent me a sense of competence, and thus, perhaps some security. My Heavenly Father, in conversation, suggested my attitude, rather than feeling competent, or self-satisfied, might be...
profound gratitude. And in humility, I am satisfied.
"I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing." John 15:5

I wish I understood what you said. It sounds profound. Am I being dense? Please simplify...

I rephrased a part of it... I hope this makes it more clear.

I thought I would challenge your premise.....:-)

Danny, I expect that!

For some reason, today it makes sense (I think). Your saying God is calling you to substitute a self focus with profound gratitude for what God does for you. Did I get it?

You got it exactly! The fact that I can do stuff, and do it well is all about God and His incredible gifts to us. The better I see myself to be, the more humble and grateful I am to Him for his gifts to me. In humility, I want to bring Him glory for what He has given, and for what He does.
